Truly Cosmopolitan: Jonathan Van Ness Makes The Cover

Updated: Dec 11, 2019

The January 2020 UK edition of Cosmopolitan has been unveiled and includes Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness adorning the cover in a dress by Christian Soriano. You have to go back to 1984 and Boy George for the last time a non-female graced a Cosmo cover. It feels like another moment. Significant in the same way the current genuinely moving Renault campaign with a lesbian couple feels.

Dig deep and this is a brave commercial decision as well. It upends the Cosmo cover staples like Katy Perry, Demi Lovato and the reality TV hinterland. The cover start seems delighted praising Cosmo on Twitter for 'showing more variations of beauty for young LGBTQ+ people.' Rocks the dress too...
